This is where you control the appearance of the web pages that RoboPhoto creates. You can access this screen from various places in the program, including clicking the 'Edit' button when specifying an HTML customization file. Most of the values here are used in conjunction with the <!--BodyAttributes--> tag in the HTML template files. Note: to change the font properties, double click on the associated text. Changing Text Properties To change the font properties of the various types of text (heading, normal text, link text, etc), double click on it. Back to the top Center If checked, everything on the resulting web page will be centered. This should normally want to do this. Back to the top Main Heading This is the web page's main heading text. It will also be used as the heading of individual image pages if nothing is specified on the EXIF editor screen or if no value exists in images.xml. Type the text that you want to use, such as My Pictures, directly into the box. Double click on the text to change the font properties. The default value is 'Photo Gallery'. This is used for the <!--HeadingText--> and/or <!--TitleText--> tags in the HTML template files. You can force the program to prompt you for this information each time by specifying the PromptForTitle Misc Option. Back to the top Web Page Text Double click to change the font properties of the associated types of text. 'Normal Text' is any text on the web page that isn't a page heading, link, visited link, or active link. The default color is white. 'Link Text' is the font associated with unvisited HTML links. The default color is blue. 'Visited Link Text' is the font associated with HTML links that have been clicked. The default color is purple. 'Active Link Text' is the font associated with unvisited HTML links when that link has the focus. The default color is red. Note: You should be careful when using non-standard fonts. Keep in mind that if the user doesn't have your font installed on their system, it will be rendered in the standard Windows font. So, your futuristic MysticMagicCurvy font that looks so nice on your computer suddenly morphs into Arial on the user's computer. How sad. Don't let that happen to you. Back to the top Web Page Background Color Double click to set the web page's background color. Make sure that the background color is different from all of the font foreground colors and that there's adequate contrast between the two. If you specify a background graphic, what you enter here won't matter since the graphic will cover it up. Back to the top Predefined Styles Instead of manually specifying the various options, you can select a predefined style from the drop down list. The only thing this option does is fill in various values on this screen and the other HTML customization screen. Back to the top Background Image Instead of using a solid background color for the web page, you can specify a graphic file that will be tiled behind the web page. Make sure that the background image works well with the fonts that you've chosen. For example, don't use black text with a dark blue background image. Also, don't over do it. Generally, the more subdued the background image, the better. Wild looking background images look good by themselves, but horrible when used as a web page background. Several background images are included with the program in the \BackGroundImages\ directory. You can also use your own. Back to the top Web Page Margins Specify the margins (in pixels) around the web page. If you specify zeros, the web elements will be pushed to the extreme edges of the web browser window. That doesn't look good. For example, the left/right margin of this web page is set to 40 pixels. 20 or 40 is usually a good choice for the left/right margins. Use 10 or 20 for the top/bottom. For reference, the icons on your desktop are 32 pixels wide. Back to the top Save Click this button to save the current settings to an HTML customization file. HTML customization files are saved in the main RoboPhoto directory and have an .HCF extension. When creating a web page, you can specify the .HCF file that you want to use by clicking the 'View' button on the wizard screen. You can automate the HCF file selection by using the UseSameNameHcfFile Misc Option. Click here for an example. If no .HCF files exist at program startup, a default one is created named sample.hcf. Back to the top Thumbnails Click this button to go direct to the thumbnail configuration screen in the main program settings. From there you can change the thumbnail sizes and the dimensions of the thumbnail grid. You can change the thumbnail grid properties (like the table border width or the cell spacing) from the other HTML customization screen. Back to the top Help Click this button to load the help file. You can also press the F1 key anywhere in the program for context sensitive help. Back to the top Close Click this button to close the form. Back to the top |
